On July 21, 2022, following a proposal from the Academic Council of Advisors at Medcenter and the decision of the founding partners, Avicenna – Batumi Medical University LLC was established in accordance with current legislation. The university's primary focus is the implementation of educational programs in the field of medicine

Avicenna – Batumi Medical University is committed to using modern and innovative methods of teaching, learning, and research that align with Western standards. By focusing on internationalization, developing international relations, and fostering the creation and sharing of knowledge, the University aims to bring its motto "learning for life" to fruition and establish itself as a premier academic platform for high-quality medical education in the region.

The University and its founding organizations leverage their extensive experience in the educational and scientific-research fields, encompassing all areas of healthcare—from prevention to rehabilitation. This comprehensive approach allows for the preparation of professional staff capable of meeting the challenges of the competitive Western medical field. Consequently, this will positively impact the development of the regional healthcare sector and enhance the quality of medical education.

About Batumi

Batumi, the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara and the second-largest city in Georgia by population, showcases a unique blend of architectural styles. The city features everything from charming 19th-century classical buildings to ultra-modern skyscrapers that house hotels and casinos. Nestled on the coast of the Black Sea, Batumi is adorned with palm trees and surrounded by mountains, benefiting from a favorable natural and strategic location.

Batumi enjoys a humid subtropical climate, characterized by an average annual temperature of 14.5°C. In January, the coldest month, temperatures average 7.1°C, while August, the warmest month, sees average temperatures of 23.2°C. The city receives an annual precipitation of 2,560 mm, with frequent showers. Although snow is rare, it melts quickly when it does occur. The average annual sea temperature at the shore is 16.7°C.

While tourism is a major economic driver for Batumi, the city also serves as a vital seaport and hosts industries such as shipbuilding, food processing, and light manufacturing.
