Obtaining Avicenna Student Status Based on Unified National Examinations

The status of an Avicenna student is primarily determined by the results of the unified national exams, except in cases specified by legislation. The academic and administrative registration deadlines for individuals eligible to enroll in Avicenna's programs, the submission of required documents for a student’s file, and the conclusion of a contract are all determined by the Rector's Order.

Eligible individuals must conclude an agreement with Avicenna – Batumi Medical University within the registration timeframe set by the Rector's Order. They are required to complete administrative registration (paying tuition fees) and academic registration (selecting study courses provided by the program in the Electronic System).

Enrollment in Avicenna - Batumi Medical University without Passing the Unified National Examinations

An entrant student can enroll in the University without passing the Unified National Examinations, as per Order N224/N of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, issued on December 29, 2011. According to this order, individuals eligible for enrollment without passing the Unified National Examinations can enroll and begin their studies at Avicenna – Batumi Medical University within one year of the issuance of the Minister's Order.

The right to obtain student status is granted to:

  • Foreign citizens and stateless persons who have received a complete general education or its equivalent in a foreign country.

  • Georgian citizens who have received a complete general education or its equivalent in a foreign country and have completed the last two years of their general education abroad.

Student status is granted upon registration at the University, submission of a document confirming the completion of a general or equivalent education, and signing an academic contract with the University. For foreign citizens, Georgian citizens with general or higher education from a foreign country, and stateless persons, an additional condition for enrollment is the recognition of their educational documents by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. Furthermore, they must obtain the right to enroll in the University through an order from the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.

Confirmation of English Language Proficiency for Applicants Enrolling in the "Medical Doctor" Program (English) Without Passing the Unified National Exams

To be admitted to the One-Cycle Educational Program of "Medical Doctor" at the School of Medicine of Avicenna – Batumi Medical University without passing the Unified National Exams, the applicant must meet one of the following requirements:

a) A citizen of a foreign country must submit an internationally recognized certificate (such as IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, UNIcert®, EnglishScore, etc.) confirming their knowledge of the English language at a minimum B1 level.

 

b) Foreign applicants who have received their education in English must submit relevant documentation (such as a diploma, certificate, etc.). Additionally, Georgian citizens who have received full general education or its equivalent in English in a foreign country, or who have completed the last two years of their general education in a foreign country, must also provide relevant documentation (such as a diploma, certificate, etc.).

c) To confirm B1-level English proficiency, foreign applicants must pass an exam organized by the University's Centre of Foreign Languages. This exam assesses listening, reading comprehension, text analysis, and speaking skills.
